General Information

Welcome to the 11th annual San Diego Pegasus Cup, in order to make your experience more enjoyable please be sure to read the following information which will help you with anything you need to know about your participation in our tournament. You can go to the specific links below and get information on registration, fields, schedules, activities and much much more.

The Pegasus Cup will be held on June 28,29,30 for the U8 to U13 age groups and July 5, 6 ,7,  for the U14 to U19 age groups. All preliminary games will be played on Saturday and Sunday, some Quarterfinal games and Semifinal games will be played on Sunday afternoon. Finals will be on Monday with the latest game played at 4pm. The tournament deadline is May 15th, 2008. All applications received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list.

Entry Fees for U8 - U9: $550.
Entry Fees for U10 - 19: $650.

You can add or delete players from your roster all the way to the night of registration, this is when your final roster needs to be presented. Please update your roster and make sure to take it with you at registration.

Competition

This year's tournament will be the most competitive we have had, committment to participate has been received by the many top Southern California Clubs. Over 400 teams will participate, making the Pegasus Cup one of the largest tournament in the Country. International teams from England, Sweden, Mexico and Canada will come to Experience the Cup and to join us in what many describe one of the best, most organized and fun tournament around.

ADIDAS SUPER GROUP.

New for the 2008 Pegasus Cup will be the addittion of the Super Group sponsored by Adidas, teams for the Super Groups will be accepted by invitation only.

Awards

Every participant will receive a Pegasus Cup pin and tournament program. In addittion 1st and 2nd place teams will receive our trademark Crystal Ball trophy.

How to apply to enter the tournament

Visit our on-line application and follow the instructions. Once the application is completed you need to e-mail it to the Pegasus Cup office, we will confirm your team acceptance after we have received your full payment. Any team that is not accepted will get a full refund. The contact person on the application will receive an e-mail to confirm that your team is been accepted.

How to register your team

Registration will be held on Friday June 27th for the u8 to u13 and July 4th for the u14 to u19 age groups. Registration will take place at the San Diego Marriott Hotel located in beautiful Del Mar. Our team managers will welcome you and make sure to facilitate the process. Registration will start at 6 pm and end at 9 pm. Registration for older on July 4th will be from 9 am to 12 Noon. Food and drinks will be served.

Direction to the San Diego Marriott Del Mar. I-5 to I-56 East exit at El Camino Real, go north approximately 100 yards and the hotel will be on your left, park in the hotel structure and go to the lobby, registration will be held at the ballroom left side of the lobby. Please join us at the ARTERRA  lounge outside by the pool area for live music. 

Travel papers

All teams not affiliated with Cal South must have approved travel papers. US Club, AYSO, Super Y league teams must have approved team rosters. International teams must show written permission to travel from their governing body.

Referees

Pegasus Cup will host top quality referees with State and Fifa badges, all games will be officiated with a 3-man system. If you like to participate in the tournament to officiate some games please contact our Head Referee Jim Kerr at jimkerrassignor@san.rr.com you can also sign up on line.

Tournament t-shirts

Tournament t-shirts will be available to purchase on line and at the tournament sites. Pre-orders will save $2 per shirt.

Hotel and Dorm requirements

Teams using hotel rooms are required to obtain them from our approved hotel list by contacting sport accomodation at www.sportaccom.com . Please make your reservation as a group, the rates will be lower than individual reservations. Your team must be accepted in the tournament first in order to be able to make reservations. Make sure to ask for the Pegasus Cup special rate.

If you are requesting dorms at UCSD please contact Raffi at (858) 673-7002. The dormitory package will place your team on-site at UCSD campus. The package includes housing (2 people per room) 3 meals per day, linens but no towels and parking permits for team cars or vans. Also available a small quantity of apartments complete with kitchen and refrigerator. The dorm reservation form must be in our office by June 15, 2008.

Parking

Parking is free at most of our field locations. Saturday and Sunday no parking permits needed at UCSD, free of charge, however on Monday June 30 and Monday July 7th school is in session and parking permits are required or you will be ticketed, permits are available inside the University at the kiosh.

Miramar College/ Hourglass. The University will charge for parking. Parking will be at the main entrance of the school on Black Mountain Road. 

Fields

The Pegasus Cup tournament is based in beatiful La Jolla California, most of our fields are located within 5 miles radius of the UCSD campus and tournament headquarter, all fields are in great conditions, please be advise that at some locations you will play on Artificial Turf (Westview High school, Bishops, Torrey Pines, Cathedral). The tournament headquarter is located at Miramar College/ Hourglass fields. This will be the center of attention and the location of the Village with our 30 foot long scoreboard, many activities will take place here, for a list of things to do and explore, please look under Village.

Scores

Scores will be posted at the Village located at Miramar College / Hourglass, look for our big scoreboard, also scores will be updates every hour on our web site.

Schedules

Schedules will be posted on our web page once the brackets have been determined, schedule are subject to change up to the night of registration. Please check our web site for changes and updates, any change to your schedule will be communicated at Check-in.

Village

The Pegasus Cup committee wants to make sure that you and your family enjoy the many activities that we will offer during the two weekends of play. The village is designed to give players, parents, officials and spectators alike an opportunity to leave the pressure of the field and enjoy a total soccer experience in a relaxed setting. The village is the perfect place to stop and take a moment to recharge between games; where you can enjoy delicious food, great entertainment, fun games, unique arts and crafts, and educational soccer clinics, and much much more. Here you can enjoy the latest inflatable rides, play 3v3, head tennis, test you skills with our free-kick wall or come to our Interactive Seminars free of charge( some of the topics: Safety, Nutrition, Injury treatment and prevention, College recruitment Tips, Fundraising and coaches clinics). Join us and watch live the Final of Euro 2008 Championship, look for us under the big white canopy.

Annual Dance

The Annual Dance will take place on July 5th at Miramar/ Hourglass Fields, everyone is welcome age 14 and up, food and soft drinks will be served with lots of good music from our great D.J. This event is a blast and every year gets bigger and bigger, hope to see you there. The dance will start at 7pm and will end at 10 pm.

War of the Keeper

On June 28 at the Miramar College/Hourglass and July 5th we will host our 7th Annual War of the Keepers competition. Come out and challenge other participant goalkeepers on a 1 v 1 competition for the right to call yourself the best at Pegasus Cup. The war of the keeper is intense , fast paced, hard shooting challenge, using two goals only yards apart. Championship t-shirt and Adidas gloves will be awarded to the Champions. Video Services, Langovin Production

Langovin production will be on site and will offer many services to your team, form video taping with editing and music, to individual footage.

Action shooter photography

Action shooter will be taking action shots of your kids, the pictures will be available for sale at the main village.
